When and where is RTC Viva Bike Vegas?
Rest Stop PhotoThe event will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the RTC Administrative Building (map to event site) located at 600 S. Grand Central Pkwy., Las Vegas NV 89106, with the bike rides beginning at the following times:
6:30 a.m. 118-mile Century
6:30 a.m. 62-mile Metric Century
7:30 a.m. 35-mile Ride

The Community Festival begins at 7:00 a.m. with vendors and children’s activities.

How do I register for this event?
You may register online, in person, or by mail. To register online visit our registration page and fill out the required information, or you can fill out our registration form and mail it along with a check to:

To request a paper registration form, please call (702) 676-1542. You may also register at the RTC, 600 S. Grand Central Pkwy., Las Vegas, NV 89106, Monday -Thursday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Please note there will be no registration on the day of the event.

What is included with my registration payment?
All registered riders will receive the following with their registration:

Rest Stop 3When and where do I pick up my ride packet and swag bag?

Ride packets, which include your ride number, course sheets, and all information needed for the ride, can be picked up at the RTC Administrative Building, 600 S. Grand Central Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89106 on Thursday October 8, 2009, and Friday, October 9 2009 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ride packet pickup is encouraged during these times, however, individuals who cannot pick up their ride packets on Thursday or Friday, may come early on the day of the event to pick up course information.

Where will the proceeds from the event go?
Proceeds from RTC Viva Bike Vegas will go to the Nevada Cancer Institute and the Las Vegas Chapter of the After-School All-Stars.

Nevada Cancer Institute is a team of dedicated professionals committed to advancing the frontiers of knowledge of cancer through research and providing world-class, research-linked cancer services to Nevadans and people throughout the Southwest. The research-linked, comprehensive cancer facility opened late Summer 2005 and is dedicated to state-of-the-art research and implementation of groundbreaking methods of prevention, detection and treatment of cancer.

The After-School All-Stars provide at-risk youth with after school programs that afford them opportunities to participate in sports, educational, cultural, and community enrichment programs to build confidence and self-esteem and to encourage youth to say"no" to gangs, drugs and violence and "yes" to hope, learning and life.

Should I bring anything with me on the ride?
Riders should bring water bottles for their ride and fill up with plenty of water at each aid station. Participants are also encouraged to bring patch kits, a cell phone, and some cash in the event that they would like to stop for refreshments between designated aid stations. No lockers will be available at the RTC, participants are encouraged to leave their valuables at home. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Will the participants have support on the ride?
The ride will be fully supported with aid stations and Support and Gear (SAG) vehicles to assist participants in the event of a flat tire, injury, etc. Please view information about our Aid Stations for Viva Bike Vegas 2009.

Each ride begins and ends at the RTC Administrative Building:

Is my payment refundable?
Payments are nonrefundable.

Can I sign up the day of the ride?

THERE WILL BE NO REGISTRATION ON THE DAY OF THE RIDE

Is this a race?

No, RTC Viva Bike Vegas is a non-competitive ride though the Las Vegas Valley.

What is the last day to register for the ride?
The last day to register for RTC Viva Bike Vegas is Friday, October 9, 2009.

When does course support end?
Course support on all rides ends at 5:00 p.m. At this time all course support and festival activities will end. SAG vehicles will be available to take riders back to the finish line if needed.

Are meals provided?
Lunch will be provided to all entrants. Lunch, provided by Outback Steakhouse, will be served between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Century ride participants who do not plan on completing their ride before 3:00 p.m. should eat lunch at the midway point. (please see route map)
