Boulder Highway Express *NEW*
The Boulder Highway Express will
have the look and feel of a light rail system, but
have the flexibility of running on regular streets,
including in dedicated curbside lanes from
Downtown Las Vegas to Tropicana Avenue and in
mixed-flow traffic from Tropicana Avenue to Sunset & Stephanie (In the overnight hours this route extends to College and Horizon).
This route will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. · From 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., this route will operate along Boulder Highway between Downtown Las Vegas and the Sunset & Stephanie area and from Downtown Las Vegas to College & Horizon during overnight hours approximately 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Service for the Boulder Highway Express begins September 18, 2011.
Centennial Express
The valley’s first Commuter Express Service began in March 2010. The Centennial Express, travels from the Centennial Hills Transit Center and Park & Ride lot, located at the intersection of U.S. 95 and Durango Drive, into Downtown Las Vegas, continuing service to the Strip and UNLV. The Centennial Hills Transit Center and Park & Ride features ample parking and an
air-conditioned terminal that includes ticket vending machines and a place for passengers to wait for vehicles to arrive. The Centennial Express features limited stop service and utilizes the
high-occupancy-vehicle (carpool) lanes on U.S. 95, making the trip from the Centennial Hills area into Downtown much faster than traditional bus service. View Centennial Express Route & Schedule (PDF)
The Centennial Express has connecting service to the 106A and 106B at the Centennial Hills Transit Center and Park and Ride lot along with connections to the airport at the Bonneville Transit Center (BTC) through Routes 108, 109 and the WAX.
Henderson & Downtown Express *NEW*
A limited stop route that will provide faster service and fewer stops when traveling Boulder Highway between Downtown Las Vegas and Henderson. It will operate seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will stop at the Government Center in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada State College (NSC) and College of Southern Nevada (CSN), Henderson, and Water Street in downtown Henderson . (The service to Government Center, NSC and CSN is served Monday through Friday only.) Service for the Henderson & Downtown Express begins September 18, 2011.
Strip & Downtown Express
The Strip & Downtown Express route provides a convenient option for both residents and tourists to travel between the resort corridor and downtown Las Vegas while also providing service to the Fremont Street Experience, World Market Center, Clark County Government Center and both Las Vegas Premium Outlet Malls. Sahara Express *COMING SOON*
The RTC is expanding its network of rapid transit services with a new line along Sahara Avenue. The Sahara Express rapid transit line will include dedicated transit lanes along much of Sahara Avenue, from Hualapai Way in the western part of the valley to Boulder Highway in the east. The Sahara Express will then branch to serve neighborhoods north and south of Sahara Avenue near Nellis Boulevard. This route will also connect to the RTC’s Deuce on the Strip, Strip & Downtown Express, Henderson & Downtown Express, and Boulder Highway Express routes.
The RTC received $34.4 million in federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act economic stimulus grant funds for the innovative project. The Sahara Express project was chosen from nearly 1,500 transportation project applications nationwide to receive this funding because of the benefits it will provide for commuters. In addition to the rapid transit lanes, the project will also feature solar powered transit shelters, ticket vending machines, elevated station platforms, and improvements to traffic signals along Sahara Avenue that will improve travel for cars and transit operations. Construction began by early 2011 and the project will be complete by early 2012.
Westcliff Airport Express
Residents living in the western part of the
valley have a fast transit option for travel to Downtown, the Strip, and McCarran
International Airport. Designed with commuters in mind, the
Westcliff Airport Express provides limited stop transit service. The Express service departs from the Westcliff Transit Center and Park & Ride, located at Durango Drive and Westcliff Drive, near Summerlin Parkway as well as the Suncoast Casino located at 9090 Alta Drive where additional park and ride spaces are located. The Westcliff Transit Center features more than 140 parking spaces, ticket vending machines and a climate-controlled transit center for passengers to wait for vehicles. Three residential transit routes also serve the Westcliff Transit Center. Routes 207 (Alta/Stewart), 208 (Washington), and 209 (Vegas Drive/Owens) stop at the Westcliff Transit Center. The transit center is conveniently located near Summerlin Parkway, making it an ideal spot for carpool partners to meet.
