In response to the ever increasing demand for faster service along the Las Vegas Valley's busiest roads, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is currently working on building a rapid transit system, ACE, that will connect downtown Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Strip, Henderson and North Las Vegas.

The ACE rapid transit system will be the RTC's showcase transportation initiative for the Las Vegas Valley. Every aspect of ACE’s function and design will challenge what riders think about mass transit. Watch the video to the right to see the RTC'S vision of how ACE rapid transit will redefine Las Vegas and define the future of transit for the RTC.

The sleek ACE bullet-shaped vehicles will travel in dedicated lanes where possible with less frequent stops than fixed-route transit, enabling the service to change routes based on traffic patterns and move passengers longer distances in a shorter time period than fixed-route bus service.  Paralleling Las Vegas’ world-class attractions, the ACE rapid transit system will be a seamless network of links throughout the Valley to various connection points of other transportation lines with more frequent stops and will have many rail-like features such as level platform boarding and multiple doors for easy loading. Riders will wait at new, comfortable, and modern shelters that will compliment the ACE rapid transit experience.  To help reduce wait times, you will be able to purchase the bus fare off of the vehicle.  Plus, all of the ACE vehicles will be equipped with wireless Internet access so you can bring a laptop and work while you travel to your destination. The ACE rapid transit system will have the appearance and feel of a light rail transit network at a considerably lower cost.

The first step toward the future of rapid transit in Southern Nevada is the construction of the
ACE Downtown Connector.  This state-of-the-art system will provide a convenient option for both residents and tourists between the resort corridor and downtown Las Vegas while also providing service to the Fremont Street Experience, World Market Center, Clark County Government Center and the Las Vegas Premium Outlet Mall.
