Coca-Cola, in conjunction with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), are hosting a contest awarding laptop computers to the top 40 local high school seniors (graduating in 2012) who compose a 500-word minimum essay on the following topic:
“How can you reduce your carbon footprint by using the services offered by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada?”
Guidelines:
- All seniors in high school graduating in 2012.
- All essays must be a minimum of 500 words, double spaced, to be computer generated the student. Contest is judged by the content of the letter and equally by how well it is written.
- We encourage all educators to submit a final draft from their students, with emphasis placed on grammar, word choice, spelling and overall fundamentals of writing.
- All essays must include the student’s name, teacher’s name, school and age.
- Essays must be received by Thursday, March 8, 2012.
Submitting Entries:
All essays must be submitted to Judy Myers from the CCSD School-Community Partnership Program via e-mail to jem274@interact.ccsd.net, via school mail to Partnership Office #145, c/o Western High School, or U.S. Mail to Partnership Office, c/o Western High School, 4601 W. Bonanza Road, Las Vegas, NV, 89107 by Thursday, March 8, 2012.
Judging:
Entries will be judged by the RTC. The laptops will be awarded in person at the RTC board meeting, Thursday, May 17, 2012.
