The RTC began the Citizens Area Transit (CAT) bus system in December 1992; In 2004 the RTC added the first Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) line to its transit system; and in October 2005 The DEUCE double deck bus service began running on the famous Las Vegas Strip. In just 12 short years, ridership among the RTC's transit services has grown from 14.9 million riders in 1993 to more than 61 million riders in 2006. The entire system consists of 46 routes served by 336 vehicles, carrying around 180,000 passengers each weekday in the greater Las Vegas Valley. Service enhancements are completed regularly and new transit guides are issued twice each year.

Most routes operate 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week, and 14 routes operate 24-hours a day. Check the routes and schedules for more specific information.

If you can’t find the information you’re looking for within this Web site, call RTC Customer Service at (702) 228-RIDE (7433), email us, or pick up a Transit Guide at the South Strip Transfer Terminal (SSTT), Downtown Transportation Center (DTC), RTC Administration Building, vendors throughout the valley or on a CAT, MAX or Deuce vehicle. This informative booklet provides all the information you’ll need to plan your transit trip.

General Transit Information

Transit Holidays
These are days the RTC's transit services recognize as holidays. Most buses have different schedules on holidays. Check the routes and schedules for more information.

Transfer Facilities
The Downtown Transportation Center (DTC) and the South Strip Transfer Terminal (SSTT) are major transfer points for many transit routes. The DTC is operated by the City of Las Vegas and the SSTT is operated by the RTC. Both facilities are open 7 days a week.

RTC representatives are available at both facilities to answer your questions about routes and schedules, sell transit passes, and process applications for reduced fare photo ID cards.

The Customer Service booths operate during the following hours:

DTC

7 days a week
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

SSTT
6675 Gilespie St.
7 days a week
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Call Transit Customer Service for information about holiday hours at (702) 228-7433.

The DTC and SSTT facilities are open for your use from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
