The Deuce on the Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas, the world’s top tourist destination, is famous for its unparalleled entertainment which attracts millions of visitors a month.  However, each month the city also welcomes thousands of new residents.  The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) enables tourists to see the sights and residents to travel near and far between work and home via roadways and transit vehicles.

As both the transit authority and the transportation-planning agency for Southern Nevada, the RTC identifies transportation challenges and explores and implements both short and long-term resolutions while simultaneously promoting sustainability, air quality improvement, enhanced mobility and increased quality of life in the region.

RTC Goals
  • Implement and update transportation systems that improve air quality;
  • Research and develop full-integrated transit options:
  • Incorporate transit  system maps into regular geographic details;
  • Secure funding for expansion, operation and maintenance of systems and routes;
  • And increase public awareness and support of the RTC system.

Future DevelopmentsThe public agency oversees the planning, engineering and distribution of federal funding for street and highway construction, as well as providing a public transit system that promotes motorist, cyclist and pedestrian travel and safety.   It is the RTC’s vision to provide a convenient, safe and effective regional transportation network that appeals to everyone, enhances mobility and air quality and thereby redefines quality of life for Southern Nevada residents.  As a public agency, the RTC has a great responsibility to the community and therefore recruits and retains only the best and brightest people in the industry.  RTC representatives are motivated to achieve excellence and strengthen the agency’s community investment by striving to attain key objectives.
